CAAC’s March 16, 2023 air-travel guidance explains that the 100 ml limit for relevant personal travel cosmetics concerns container capacity, not the remaining contents. This is evergreen advice, not a new rule today or a complete liquids guide. Check domestic, international and regional flight conditions separately.

Sort items at the hotel

Editorial advice: inspect packaging labels and decide what you intend to carry on or check. Ask the airline or airport about uncertain items. A nearly empty bottle does not remove the capacity issue. Checked items still need to meet transport and packaging requirements.

Finish before vehicle pickup

Avoid opening every suitcase after the car arrives. Recount bags after packing and tell the service team about additions or bulky items. Allow for checkout, loading and airport formalities. Reaching the airport by private car does not establish security acceptance.

Check each connecting sector

For connections, confirm requirements for the actual sectors, whether you leave the restricted area and the item type. Keep duty-free receipts. Rules from one sector should not be applied automatically to another, and duty-free purchase does not guarantee cabin acceptance.

Handle changes separately

If repacking or checking an item becomes necessary at the airport, coordinate with companions and follow the airport process. Driver storage, return to a hotel or shipping is not automatically included; feasibility and cost require separate confirmation.
