Wheelchair airport transfers: confirm airline assistance and the vehicle separately

Channel and scope
China Eastern’s application page says this online channel accepts requests more than 48 hours before departure and applies to qualifying flights operated and numbered by China Eastern or Shanghai Airlines. No clear publication date is displayed. This evergreen advice does not extend that channel rule to every airline or wheelchair service.
Check the request status
The page distinguishes assistance types and says a cabin-wheelchair request being generated does not mean approval. Confirm your service type, result and airport arrangements with the carrier before sharing an expected handover point with the car service. Other carriers have their own requirements.
Describe the vehicle needs
Editorial advice: state whether you bring a wheelchair, whether it folds, its packed dimensions and weight, and the assistance needed to board. The team must confirm the actual vehicle and support. Do not assume a standard MPV is an accessible vehicle in which someone can remain seated in a wheelchair.
Plan the handover
Agree which companion will speak with airline staff and which will contact the driver. Reconfirm the actual meeting point on arrival. Ask the provider about airport wheelchair boundaries and access to parking; do not assume airport equipment can be taken away.
Allow enough time
Leave time for handover, baggage organisation and boarding. Reduce tightly scheduled sightseeing if necessary. Reconfirm the booking if waiting or routes change. This is not medical advice and does not promise driver nursing, lifting or airline-service representation.
Verification
Verified 2026-10-03 09:06 (Asia/Shanghai). Reconfirm before travel.
Send your date, route, pickup address, passenger and luggage details, flight number and preferred driver language.
Vehicle, availability, total price and meeting arrangements are confirmed directly with our team.
