Notice and scope
The Shanghai police notice dated September 30 specifies vehicle controls in designated parts of Puxi and Pudong from 16:30 to 23:30 daily, September 30 to October 7, 2026. Consult the official notice for boundaries. This is not a ban covering all of Huangpu or Pudong. Times and boundaries may change on site.

Editorial advice: send the hotel name, street address, actual entrance and expected meeting time. Ask the service team to check an executable route. A searchable map address does not establish that a car can reach the door during controls.
Make the meeting point practical
If meeting outside the controlled area, agree a permitted stopping location and recognisable landmark. Allow time to walk with bags. Explain mobility needs and acceptable walking distance in advance, and coordinate with the hotel and car service.
Plan arrival and departure separately
For a departure, allow separately for checkout, walking, detours and airport formalities. Leaving the hotel lobby is not the same as driving away. For an arrival, recheck hotel access against the actual arrival time and tell companions about any revised drop-off.

Reconfirm arrangements and possible charges when changing meeting points, routes or waiting. No temporary permit, fixed detour time or exemption from on-site controls is promised.
