Shanghai airport transfer checklist: check your power bank before leaving

An evergreen reminder
CAAC announced on June 26, 2025 that domestic flights would prohibit power banks without a clear CCC mark or from recalled models or batches starting June 28, 2025. This is an evergreen reminder, not a new 2026 rule. Check international sectors separately with the operating airline.
Check at the hotel
Editorial advice: inspect the device markings and model, then check recall information with the manufacturer. Resolve doubts with the airline or airport before pickup rather than unpacking at the hotel entrance. Do not take a device with unclear markings or a recall issue in the hope it will pass.
Prepare communication
Charge your phone, bring a suitable cable and save flight details, addresses and contacts for offline access. Groups can nominate one main contact in case another traveller loses phone access.
Allow for disruption
Extra time cannot make a prohibited item acceptable. If returning to the hotel or adding a stop becomes necessary, check flight deadlines and reconfirm the route and cost. Driver storage or shipping of personal items is not an assumed inclusion.
