Mid-Autumn evening returns: Shanghai extended metro services and regional charters

Separate the dates
The Shanghai government update of 20 September lists extended services on Lines 1, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 13 for 24–26 September, with final extended trains leaving origin stations at midnight. Additional trains on Lines 1, 2, 10 and 17 on 27 September do not offer transfers. Rechecked on 24 September; origin departure times are not the last-train time at every station.
Allow time after sightseeing
As editorial planning advice, include leaving the attraction, retrieving bags, walking and finding the group. Agree on a clear meeting point and avoid last-minute scattered shopping when travelling with children or older passengers.
Check regional connections
Returning from Wuxi, Xitang or another nearby destination, verify the exact station, line, direction and last train before planning a metro connection. Additional trains and regular extended services have different transfer conditions. Avoid a connection based only on a midnight headline.
Specify the final destination
Say whether your charter ends at a hotel, railway station or airport. Provide passenger and bag counts and your intended departure time. List split drop-offs in order and confirm hours, distance and charges; extra stops are not automatically included.
Have a practical fallback
If sightseeing runs late, confirm an alternative destination and cost before changing your charter. This article does not guarantee last-minute vehicles or public transport connections. Follow current official notices, on-site operations and your booking agreement.
