Airport transfers near NECC on September 24–26: meeting points and diversions
Dated scope
A Shanghai government update published on 20 September 2026 restricts motor vehicles on Laigang Road between Songze Avenue and East Yinggang Road, and the Jianhong Elevated Road exit ramp to Laigang Road, from 07:00 to 18:00 on 23–26 September; regular-route buses are exempt. Rechecked on 24 September. This does not mean the whole Hongqiao hub is closed.
Check the pickup entrance
Send the exact hotel, venue or office address and entrance. A functioning hotel does not establish that the original access road is open. Agree on a reachable meeting point before coming downstairs.
Budget for walking and diversions
As planning advice, allow separately for checkout, walking, loading and any diversion. Discuss accessibility for large bags, children or reduced mobility. No live traffic estimate or fixed driving time is supplied.
Confirm the airport and vehicle
Provide the flight, airport, terminal, passenger and luggage details. Confirm driver language and availability. Do not assume a private charter qualifies for an exemption.
Communicate changes
Agree on a revised meeting point before moving your bags. Share nearby signage and say whether you are still inside the hotel. Recheck official and on-site instructions before travel; clarify waiting and change charges.
Verification
2026-09-24 09:06 (Asia/Shanghai). Recheck before travelling.
